Coralie Vogelaar
Coralie Vogelaar is an interdisciplinary artist who combines social science such as behavioural studies with the artistic imagination. Vogelaar investigates the relationship between human and machine by applying machine logic to the human body.
Her work manifest itself in the form of performances and video and multimedia installations, for which she often works together with experts from various disciplines including data analysis, choreography, and sound design. She teaches at the ArtScience Interfaculty since 2022.
Places where her work has been shown include HeK Basel (DE), ZKM - Karlsruhe (DE), Photographers' Gallery London (UK), Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam (NL), Fotomuseum Winterthur (CH), Kunstverein Kassel (DE), Science gallery Dublin (IE), Museum für Gestaltung Zürich (DE), Kunstfort bij Vijfhuizen (NL) and Whitebox Art Center, New York (US). She is an alumnus of the Rijksakademie van beelden kunsten in Amsterdam (NL). Her performance Emotion Recognition from an Algorithmic Point of View was featured in The Most Iconic Works of 40 years V2 - Lab for the Unstable Media (NL). in 2021 she was nominated for the Prix de Rome (NL) and in 2023 and in 2023, she was a yearlong resident at the International Studio and Curatorial Program (ISCP) in New York.
