Guy Livingston

Guy Livingston is a visiting PhD Candidate at the Academy of Creative and Performing Arts (ACPA) and is currently (2023) writing his dissertation on Musical and Architectural Markers for Silence. He also teaches in the BA and MA programs at the KABK.

He has performed internationally as a pianist from Tbilisi to Lincoln Center. His performance art projects have been featured in Sports Illustrated, The New York Times, Le Monde, Gramophone, The Wall Street Journal, and BBC Magazine.

Livingston hosts The Bug, a podcast which is broadcast from a former embassy in The Hague. His sculpture Quiet Spheres recently returned to earth after a year on the International Space Station. He appears in the Hedy Lamarr film Bombshell (on Netflix) as an expert on torpedo guidance systems, player piano synchronization, and the futurist music of George Antheil.

An expert on sounds, he has lectured at Princeton University, TedX Leiden, and the European Space Agency. Livingston holds degrees with honors from Yale University, the New England Conservatory of Music, and the Royal Conservatory of the Netherlands.
