Broken Ensemble Sound Installation
Broken Ensemble, a series of sound installations created by composer and sound artist Siamak Anvari is on view until 10th of July at the ACPA exhibition space in Leiden.
A transducer (exciter) is attached to each instrument in order to resonate their body and produce sound in a same way as in a loudspeaker. An algorithm running on a computer in real time, is responsible for producing the music in certain orders and sending it to the instruments. The sound material used in this work is also based on the recordings of the same instruments. Like an ensemble, they interact with each other, play together and give space to one another while structuring unrepeated musical forms.
