Irakli Sabekia

Irakli Sabekia is a Georgian designer and artistic researcher based in Amsterdam. His work explores the human position in relation to artificial and natural systems and the frictions that arise at their intersection. Engaging with politics, society, and technology, his projects combine artistic and scientific methods to enter a dialogue with the audience offering a layered insight into the issues he addresses.

Since 2022, he has been tutoring and lecturing in the Master's program at the Design Academy Eindhoven, while contributing as a guest lecturer at several art and design schools in the Netherlands and abroad. His work has been showcased at venues such as Bozar Centre for Fine Arts, The Serpentine Sackler Gallery, Van Abbemuseum, Milan Design Week, and Ars Electronica Festival among others, and has been nominated for various art and design prizes, including the STARTS Prize, Hublot Design Prize, Falling Walls, and New Technological Art Award.
