First Cut | Researching, Making, and Conversing

Fr 15 Mar 2024 16:00 – 19:30 - KABK Auditorium

First Cut will give a lecture about the role of research in collective film practices, addressing the position of research in their work both as individuals and as a curatorial/screening collective.

The importance of the socio-political lens in film is a guiding principle for First Cut, which they will discuss in the context of their collaborative screening programmes - 'Common(ing) Thread' and 'Re-enactment' - as well as by sharing excerpts of and research behind their own individual film projects.

Screenings and fragments by Laura Murphy & Black Bark Films, Julia Heijligers, Daniël Siegersma, Hattie Wade, Cristina Lavosi and Cyan Bae.

Thanks everyone for joining!
