The new Lectorate FILM has organised a screening of the Venice Golden Lion winning film Firstborn - Eersgeborene (2009, 27:00 min) by PhDArts candidate Etienne Kallos. Following the screening Kallos will give a keynote presentation about his research.
This short film explores identity and sexuality within the Afrikaans minority culture of post-Apartheid South Africa through a fable about two brothers who descend into matricide and madness on a remote ostrich farm.
