SIA Fellowships Lecturer-Researchers

Deadline: 12 January 2027

SIA (the Dutch research fund for applied sciences) is making funding available for up to 40 fellowships for lecturers-researchers already working at a university of applied sciences. The max. amount is € 50,000 for salary costs (min. 0,4fte research time, 12-18 months) and material costs.

The project has to benefit the teaching curriculum and the development of the lecturer/researcher, and be connected to the lectorate. Researchers already pursuing or holding a PhD are excluded, but the fellowship can be used in preparation for a practical doctorate. Deadline is 12 January 2027; applications can be in English but most of the information/communication is in Dutch.

Applications consist of a summary (max. 300 words), narrative CV (1500), embedding (1000), research plan (2000), connection to teaching/professional practice (2000), budget, and declaration of support. The grant rate is high (>50%) but no earlier artistic research projects have been funded (although six projects about art were funded in the previous round, see the project database). Preparing an application will take at least two months, so the timeframe is tight.

All applications have to go through the lectorate. If you’re interested, please contact Floris Solleveld, research coordinator PARC (f.solleveld@kabk.nl) asap, cc the lector/coordinator (Paul/Roos for KC, Erik/Georgie for KABK).
