New institute manager starts at ACPA

On December 1, 2025, Roosmarijn Hompe will start as institute manager of the Academy of Creative and Performing Arts (ACPA).

She brings with her extensive experience in higher arts education and the cultural sector, including positions in educational development, program evaluations, and project coordination. She has previously worked for Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, the Creative Industries Fund NL, spent more than twelve years as education coordinator at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK), and most recently served as research coordinator for PARC, Platform for Arts Research in Collaboration, a collaboration between ACPA, KABK, and the Royal Conservatoire.

In her new position, Roosmarijn will focus on coordinating ACPA's daily activities, supporting staff and PhD students, and facilitating ACPA's research, education, and outreach activities. During this period, in which ACPA is facing changes and budget cuts within Leiden University and The Hague University of the Arts, she will play an active role in guiding this transition. For Roosmarijn, it is important to ensure that processes within ACPA run smoothly. In this way, she wants to contribute to an environment in which staff and PhD students can flourish and develop. Pending a clear future perspective for ACPA, she is currently working on a one-year contract. Hopefully, the commitment will then take on a more permanent form.

Until February 1, 2026, she will work closely with the current institute manager, Rosalien van der Poel, who, after more than thirty years in various roles at Leiden University, is handing over her duties as institute manager to focus on freelance activities as an art historian.
