Input needed for the 2025 theme of the NWA-ORC
The programme Research along Routes by Consortia within the overarching Dutch National Research Agenda (in short the NWA-ORC) of the Dutch Research Council (NWO) aims to enable interdisciplinary research and innovation that brings scientific and societal breakthroughs within reach.
The NWA has an art route with the theme Research and Innovation in the 21st Century. The route plays a role in organising and connecting the field of art and relevant research, and in this way can also place urgent themes on the agenda. As an example, the theme of 2024 was ‘Art Research for New Perspectives on Climate Justice’ for which around 7 million euros was reserved.
For 2025, there’s a focus on the role of arts research in the digital transition. We think that artist-researchers of the KABK/KC/ACPA community can offer valuable insights for the new NWA-ORC theme of the NWA Route Art. One of our lectors and the academic director, Erik Viskil, is Steering Committee Member of the NWA Art Route.
